I saw this red-tailed hawk from the car, stopped quickly, and he had flown to the top of a light pole across the highway. We both waited a long time, he swooped, grabbed a mouse, and veered off to the south. I had my 400 f/5.6 on the camera, and it just wasn't enough glass to get this guy any closer. When you just can't get closer, the size of your glass makes a big difference.
